Anchal Padukone spent most of her teenage years in Bombay – haggling over rickshaw fares, finding her way through all kinds of traffic (automobile, human and bovine) and accumulating connections in Bollywood, making Padukone a household name (or was it that other girl? I forget). Offstage, she can usually be found compulsively checking the weather (a practice unheard of in Bombay, where one knows with alarming certainty that today is going to be hot) and consuming copious amounts of caffeine.
